Zip Drive
They are bigger than the floppy disk both in size and storage capacity. Data can compressed so that more data can be stored on it. They are more expensive than the floppy disk
Floppy Disk
Holds about 1.44MB in data. Magnetic storage device that was used in the 1980s but was replaced by the CD. It is compact and cheap but they can be damaged easily
Flash Memory Stick
Holds anywhere form 512MB-32GB in data. they are small and lightweight, you can rewrite information. More compact and portable than CDs but because of their small size they can be lost easily
Hard Disk
It can hold upto 120GB in storage or more. It is a magnetic storage device thats in your computer. Can't be affected by viruses but the surface can be easily damaged
CD-RW
Stands for Compact Disk Rewritable. Holds upto 650MB-1GB. Data can be changed or erased, cheap, portable and most computers can read CDs but they can get scratched and damaeged easily
DVD
Stands for Digital Versatile Disk. 4.7GB-17GB they show more quality than a CD. They are portable and cheap but they can be damaged easily
RAM
Stands for Random Access Memory. it is very small 512-1GB. RAM is the fastest program for accessing things but it is volatile memory so if the computer switches off the data will be gone.
SD card
Stands for Secure disk. It is chip based. Non-volatile so data will always be there, they are portable but their physical size is small so they can be lost easily
Magnetic Tape Backup
Can hold upto 200GB or more. Magnetic storage used for baking up large amounts of data. Large capacity, cheap and can't be infected by viruses
CD-ROM
Compact Disk Read Only Memory. Optical device used to store data .e.g. music. They are small, portable and cheap but data can't be changed
