Means the Ground Fault system has detected a fault in the lead and taken the battery offline. You detect that by seeing the battery has come offline and you would see the BAT FEEDER FAULT RESET Amber light illuminate

How does Landing gear stay down?

Mechanical locks in the actuator pistons lock the gear down and interrupt the current to the hydraulic pump motor turning off hydraulic pressure when all 3 landing gears are down and locked.

If for some crazy reason you need to have the fueler fill both NAC and Wing tanks for a top off, what is the sequence you need to tell them to fuel it?

NAC first then Wing tanks.

How are C model and B model low pressure fuel pumps driven?

C: 1 engine driven, 1 electrically B: both electrically

Oil Scavenger pump because they run off the same engine driven shaft. So you want to monitor the oil pressure and temperature when you see a Fuel Press annunciator.

Pulled in and pushed out

What does the Bus Feeder Fault detection circuit do?

When a 60A Bus Tie blows it turns on the lighted annunciator.

During taxi the R DC GEN light illuminates, what is a possible cause? In reference to the previous question, you can verify that the generators are no longer paralleling due to a low electrical load by increasing the load via lights or increasing N1 above 60%

What does the Ground Fault Detection System do for the battery and generators?

-Battery: detects a fault in the battery lead causing the battery relay and ground fault relay to open to take the battery offline. -Generator: detects a fault in the generator lead causing the ground fault sense relay to open and take that generator offline.

What happens when the starter is switched on?

-Energizes appropiate starter relay -Activates the appropiate engine igniton system. -B model Activates the purge valve -B model de activates the ground fault trip system.

What happens in the Landing Gear System when the Gear Handle is Selected DOWN?

-hydraulic pump motor is energized -power is applied to up/down selector and sends pressure to gear actuators -move gear up into wheel well -system continues to pressurize until 1850psi is sensed in the pressure switch. -if pressure decreases below 1400psi the pressure switch opens and the pump turns on to re-pressurize.

A. No you may not take off until this light is extinguished. You can fix it by turning on both boost pumps (B99) or by turning on the respective side standby boost pump on C99.

What happens if the jet transfer pump stops working (no motive flow)?

A. The nacelle tank will feed via gravity, however 28 gallons in each NAC Tank is unusable. (Which would mean 20 min less flying time for each NAC Tank, 40 minutes if you lost both.)

What has to be functional on the stabtrim system before you can take off?

All of it, you cannot take off with trim inop.

What are the major things that make the B model Electrical system different from the C model?

B Model has two extra systems. Ground Fault Detection System and Bus Feeder Fault Detection System

What does the AC bus power?

B Model: TQ, CA Attitude and HSI, Oil pres, fuel flow and qty gauges C Model: TQ and CA Attitude and HSI, volt/freq meter, inverter warning relay

Why doesn't the gear retract on the ground?

Because the Right Squat Switch interrupts power to gear motors when weight on wheels is sensed and engages the J-Hook

Fuel Press annunciator means the low pressure pump has failed. Now the fuel tanks are being gravity fed and you have 28 gallons (188 lbs) of unusable fuel in your NAC tanks. Also consider you have 10 hours of flt time before you need a High Pressure pump overhaul.

Preflighting your C Model 99 you notice that the #2 Inverter is not working this could be caused by.

Why do we turn on the Battery before GPU connection?

To prevent the avionics from being fried. Battery Off- avionics relay closed and connected to power regardless of avionics master switch being on. Battery ON- avionics relay disconnects from battery until avionics master switch is turned on.

Gear Unsafe Horn will sound..

Whenever the gear is not down and locked and N1 is 80% or less Whenever flaps are selected FULL and the gear is not down and locked. This cannot be silenced.

Can Jet A with prist be used if needed?

Yes

What would happen if one of the fuel probes is inop or not working?

You would show an inaccurate reading of the fuel quantity because all 5 probes parallel each other to give an accurate readout

How do our brakes work?

apply pressure to pedals, shuttle valve moves to allow pressure flow to brakes

Why will you not hear a trim out of range warning in flight?

it is deactivated in flight with the right squat switch

What is parrelling?

means the generators are operating in parallel to each other. Basically just operating at the same time sharing the same loads. They start parallelling at .14 load.

For the generators what happens when over voltage is detected?

the over voltage system detects 32.5v or more and take the generator offline by opening the reverse current relay.

The flap position indicator gauge receives its information from the left or right flap position transmitter?

right inboard flap

You suspect that the right 325 Amps current limit failed. How do you confirm this?

the respective side inverter is inop

What is going on in the system when you select flaps full and you hear a warning horn?

the systems detects that your Gear is not down and locked.

When doing a battery start, why do we turn GEN 2 off before starting the left engine and then bring it back online after 10% N1?

we do that because starters draw 1000amps and you might blow a 325amp current limiter.
