What does the Tab key do?

Moves cursor to a pre-selected point (tab stop)

Default indent amount when you press the Tab Key.

Moves the tab key a 1/2 inch to the right.

right tab

Right-aligns the text at the tab stop.

Removes a tab stop

Select all the text that uses the tab stop then click the tab stop and drag it off the Ruler.

to Customize Indent Command amounts

Select the Layout tab near the desired values in the boxes under Indent.

how to type a guideline

-Center longest entry in column 1 -Space 10 times -Repeat steps 1-2 for each column ~Don't space after the last column. -Set the tabs for each column (Choose the type of tab based on column content.) -Delete the guideline -Left align then tab and then type the problem

Tab Stops

Adding tab stops to the Ruler allows you to change the size of the tabs, and Word even allows you to apply more than one tab stop to a single line

decimal tabs

Aligns decimal numbers using the decimal point.

Indent markers

Allow you to indent paragraphs to the location you want.

Show/Hide Command

Allows you to see hidden formatting marks

Center Tab

Centers the text around the tab stop

Bar Tab

Draws a vertical line on the document

In the View tab, click on check box next to Ruler.

Left-aligns the text at the tab stop

Hanging Indent
