America - Factories and countryside were unharmed by war and the war sped up industrial production, America was seeing an economic boom. Britain - The government was deeply in dept, over 1 billion pounds was owed to America. France - France came out of the with great debts. Factories and Agricultural land had been destoryed, meaning major job shortages. Germany - Germany was required to amke heavy reporations to the allied countries for causing the war. An economic depression was expected in Germany.
What is an armistice?
An armistice is a cease fire where neither side has won or lost but both sides agree to stop fighting, sometimes fighting will continue after an armistice is over.
Why did Germany want an armistice?
Germany wanted peace for several reasons, all there allies had left them or had been defeated. They also had major food shortages at home as all the German ports had been blocked off by British ships. Also America had just joined the war which caused much worry for the German army.
