Monsoon winds

From Oct to Jan, the Northeast Monsoon winds blow over the Indian sub-continent. These winds are dry and bring no rain to countries like Bangladesh. From Jun to Sept, the Southwest Monsoon brings heavy rain to the Indian sub-continent as the winds pick up a lot of moisture as they blow over the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall

The annual rainfall for the ~ is high, at above 1500mm. The monthly rainfall range is large, between 0 and 3000mm. The ~ has distinct wet and dry seasons.

Distribution

The tropical monsoon climate is experienced by places located between 10 and 25 N and S of the Equator. This region includes places in Indo-China e.g. Vietnam, Myanmar, South Asia e.g. India, Sri Lanka, Western Africa, as well as northeastern and southeastern Brazil.

Temperature

The ~ is characterised by high temps throughout the year. The mean annual temp of places in the ~ averages around 26C.
