Zad al-Talibin (Provision for the Seekers) 12- Part 2

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : يَأْتِيْ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ، لَّا يُبَالِي المَرْءُ مَا أَخَذَ مِنْهُ، أَمِنَ الْحَلَالِ أَم مِّنَ الحَرَامِ

The Prophet saw said, "A time will come upon people in which it will not concern a person whether what he acquires is from a lawful or an unlawful source"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : يَأْتِيْ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ، الصَّابِرُ فِيْهِمْ عَلى دِيْنِهِ كَالْقَابِضِ عَلَى الجَمْرِ

The Prophet saw said, "A time will come upon the people when a person among them practicing his Religion with perseverance will be like one clutching onto a cinder"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَّا يَنْفَعُ فِيْهِ إِلَّا الدِّيْنَارُ وَ الدِّرْهَمُ

The Prophet saw said, "A time will surely come upon the people when only dinars and dirhams will be of any benefit"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : تَعَلَّمُوْا العِلْمَ، وَ عَلِّمُوْهُ النَّاسَ. تَعَلَّمُوا الْفَرَائِضَ، وَ عَلِّمُوْهَا النَّاسَ. تَعَلَّمُوْا الْقُرْآنَ، وَ عَلِّمُوْهُ النَّاسَ. فَإِنِّي امْرُؤٌ مَّقْبُوْضٌ، وَّ الْعِلْمُ سَيَنْقَبِضُ، وَ يَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ حَتّى يَخْتَلِفَ اثْنَانِ فِيْ فَرِيْضَةٍ لَّا يَجِدَانِ أَحَدًا يَّفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمَا

The Prophet saw said, "Acquire sacred knowledge and teach it to others, learn the obligations of Religion and teach them to others, and learn the Quran and teach it to others; for I am a mortal being and sacred knowledge will soon [too] be eradicated, and strife will occur to such an extent that two people will disagree over a religious obligation and will find nobody to decide between them"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ انْتِزَاعًا يَّنْتَزِعُهُ مِنَ الْعِبَادِ، وَ لكِن يَّقْبِضُ الْعِلمَ بِقَبْضِ العُلَمَاءِ، حَتّى إِذَا لَمْ يُبْقِ عَالِمًا اتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ رُؤُوْسًا جُهَّالًا، فَسُئِلُوْا فَأَفْتَوْا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ، فَضَلُّوْا وَ أَضَلُّوا

The Prophet saw said, "Allah will not seize sacred knowledge by extracting it from people, but will seize it by removing the scholars until, when there remains no learned person, people will appoint ignorant men as leaders. When questioned, they will pass rulings without knowledge. Thus, they will be misguided and will misguide others"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِنَّهُ سَيَكُوْنُ فِيْ آخِرِ هذِهِ الأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ، لَّهُمْ مِثْلَ أَجْرِ أَوَّلِهِمْ، يَأْمُرُوْنَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ، وَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، وَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَ أَهْلَ الْفِتَنِ

The Prophet saw said, "Among the latter people of this Umma there will be a group that will have reward similar to that of the first people. They will enjoin good, forbid evil, and fight against those who cause strife"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "يَكُوْنُ فِيْ آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ أَقْوَامٌ، إِخْوَانُ الْعَلَانِيَةِ، وَ أَعْدَاءُ السَّرِيْرَةِ". فَقِيْلَ: يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ! وَ كَيْفَ يَكُوْنُ ذلِكَ ؟قَالَ: ذلِكَ بِرَغْبَةِ بَعْضِهِمْ إِلى بَعْضٍ، وَّ رَهْبَةِ بَعْضِهِم مِّنْ بَعْضٍ

The Prophet saw said, "At the end of time there will be [groups of] people who will pose [to one another] their brotherhood in public but will be enemies in secret." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How will that be?" He replied, "It will be because of [the self-interests] of some concerning others and the fear of some from others"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : يَكُوْنُ فِيْ آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ دَجَّالُوْنَ كَذَّابُوْنَ، يَأْتُوْنَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَحَادِيْثِ بِمَا لَمْ تَسْمَعُوْا أَنْتُمْ وَ لَا آبَاؤُكُمْ، فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَ إِيَّاهُمْ، لَا يُضِلُّوْنَكُمْ، وَلَا يُفْتِنُوْنَكُمْ"

The Prophet saw said, "At the end of time, there will be flagrant deluding liars who will convey to you narrations which neither you nor your forefathers will have heard. Beware of them, lest they misguide you or involve you in mischief"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : وَ الَّذِيْ نَفْسِيْ بِيَدِهِ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتّى يَمُرَّ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى القَبْرِ فَيَتَمَرَّغُ عَلَيْهِ، وَ يَقُوْلُ يَالَيْتَنِيْ! كُنْتُ مَكَانَ صَاحِبِ هَذَا الْقَبْرِ، وَ لَيْسَ بِهِ الدِّيْنُ إِلَّا البَلَاءُ

The Prophet saw said, "By him in whose hand lies my life, the world will not terminate until a person passes a grave and tosses and turns on it [restlessly], saying, "I wish I were in place of the occupant of this grave." This [action] will not amount to some sort of personal habit. It will be [the result of] tribulation"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : وَ الَّذِيْ نَفْسِيْ بِيَدِهِ لَا تَذْهَبُ الدُّنْيَا حَتّى يَأْتِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمٌ لَّا يَدْرِى الْقَاتِلُ فِيْمَ قَتَلَ، وَ لَا الْمَقْتُوْلُ فِيْمَ قُتِلَ"، فَقِيْلَ: كَيْفَ يَكُوْنُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ: "الهَرْجُ، القَاتِلُ وَ المَقْتُوْلُ فِي النَّارِ

The Prophet saw said, "By him in whose hand lies my life, the world will not terminate until a time comes upon people when neither the murderer will know why he killed, nor the murdered know why he was killed." The Prophet was asked, "How will this occur?" He replied, "There will be turmoil. The murderer and the murdered will [both] go to Hellfire"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِنَّ مِنْ أَشَدِّ أُمَّتِيْ لِيْ حُبًا نَاسٌ يَّكُوْنُوْنَ بَعْدِيْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ رَآنِيْ بِأَهْلِهِ وَ مَالِهِ

The Prophet saw said, "From my Umma, the ones that love me most will be those who will come after me - each one of them will be prepared to sacrifice his family and possessions to see me"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَن يَّتَدَافَعَ أَهْلُ المَسْجِدِ. لَا يَجِدُوْنَ إِمَامًا يُصَلِّيْ بِهِمْ

The Prophet saw said, "One of the signs of the Final Hour is that people in the mosque will prompt each other but they will not find any imam to lead them in prayer"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِقْرَؤُا القُرْآنَ بِلُحُوْنِ الْعَرَبِ وَ أَصْوَاتِهَا، وَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَ لُحُوْنَ أَهْلِ العِشْقِ وَ لُحُوْنَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ، وَ سَيَجِيْءُ بَعْدِيْ قَوْمٌ يُّرَجِّعُوْنَ بِالْقُرْآنِ تَرْجِيْعَ الْغِنَاءِ وَ النَّوْحِ، لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ، مَفْتُوْنَةٌ قُلُوْبُهُمْ وَ قُلُوْبُ الَّذِيْنَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ شَأْنُهُمْ

The Prophet saw said, "Recite the Quran with the modulation and tones of the Arabs, but refrain from the modulation of those who recite love poetry and [the modulations] of the people of the two books [the Jews and the Christians]. Some people will come after me who will recite the Quran in a singing and wailing manner, but it will not go beyond their throats, and their hearts and the hearts of those who are charmed by their performance will be caught by temptations"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : يُوْشِكُ أَن يَّأْتِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَّا يَبْقى مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ إِلَّا اسْمُهُ، وَ لَا يَبْقى مِنَ القُرْآنِ إِلَّا رَسْمُهُ. مَسَاجِدُهُمْ عَامِرَةٌ، وَّ هِيَ خَرَابٌ مِّنَ الْهُدى، عُلَمَاؤُهُمْ شَرٌّ مَنْ تَحْتَ أَدِيْمِ السَّمَاءِ. مِنْ عِنْدِهِمْ تَخْرُجُ الْفِتْنَةُ وَ فِيْهِمْ تَعُوْدُ

The Prophet saw said, "Soon a time will come upon people when nothing of Islam will remain but its name and nothing of the Quran will remain but its script. Their masjids will be in fine condition and full but will be empty of guidance. Their scholars will be the worst people beneath the sky: from them corruption will emerge and in them it will return"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "يُوشِكُ الأُمَمُ أَنْ تَدَاعى عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الْأَكَلَةُ إِلَى قَصْعَتِهَا"، فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ: وَ مِنْ قِلَّةٍ نَّحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ: "بَلْ أَنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ، وَلَكِنَّكُمْ غُثَاءٌ كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ، وَلَيَنْزِعَنَّ اللهُ مِنْ صُدُورِ عَدُوِّكُمُ المَهَابَةَ مِنْكُمْ، وَلَيَقْذِفَنَّ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمُ الوَهْنَ"، فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ: يَّا رَسُولَ اللهِ! مَا الوَهْنُ؟ قَالَ: حُبُّ الدُّنْيَا وَكَرَاهِيَةُ المَوتِ

The Prophet saw said, "Soon nations will summon each other to attack you just as a group of diners usher each other towards their meal." Somebody asked, "Because we will be few in number at the time?" The Messenger saw replied, "No, you will be numerous, but you will be foam [and rubbish] like that carried by a torrent. And Allah will extract from the hearts of your enemies [their] awe of you and place weakness in your hearts." The person asked, "What will this weakness be?" He replied, "Love of the world and dislike of death"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : لَا تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ حَتّى يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ يَّأْكُلُوْنَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الْبَقَرَةُ بِأَلْسِنَتِهَا

The Prophet saw said, "The Final Hour will not transpire until people will emerge who will eat using their tongues as cows do"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : لَا تَقُوْمُ السَّاعَةُ حَتّى يَكُوْنَ أَسْعَدُ النَّاسِ بِالدُّنْيَا لُكَعَ ابْنَ لُكَعٍ

The Prophet saw said, "The Final Hour will not transpire until the most successful person [in regard to the affairs] of the world will be a baseborn person, son of a baseborn"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرِنِيْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَلُوْنَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَلُوْنَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَجِيْئُ قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِيْنَهُ، وَ يَمِيْنُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ

The Prophet saw said, "The best of the people are my generation, then those who will succeed them, and then those who will succeed them. After them, a people will come who will give testimony before swearing an oath and will swear an oath before giving testimony"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : يَذْهَبُ الصَّالِحُوْنَ الأَوَّلُ فَالأَوَّلُ، وَ تَبْقى حُفَالَةٌ كَحُفَالَةِ الشَّعِيْرِ أَوِ التَّمَرِ، لَا يُبَالِيْهِمُ اللهُ بَالَةً

The Prophet saw said, "The pious will leave [this world] one after another and only the chaff will remain like the chaff of barley or dates. Allah will not have the slightest concern for them"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "صِنْفَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَمْ أَرَهُمَا: قَوْمٌ مَّعَهُمْ سِيَاطٌ كَأَذْنَابِ الْبَقَرِ، يَضْبُوْنَ بِهَا النَّاسِ، وَ نِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ مُّمِيْلَاتٌ مَّائِلَاتٌ، رُؤُوْسُهُنَّ كَأَسْنِمَةِ الْبُخْتِ الْمَائِلَةِ. لَا يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ وَ لَا يَجِدْنَ رِيْحَهَا، وَ إِنَّ رِيْحَهَا لَتُوْجَدُ مِن مَّسِيْرَةِ كَذَا وَ كَذَا

The Prophet saw said, "There are two types of people who will enter the Hellfire, whom I have not yet seen: people who will have whips similar to ox-tails with which they will beat people, and women who will be dressed, yet nude. They will seduce men and will themselves be inclined toward them. Their heads will be like the swaying humps of Bactrian camels. They will neither enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance, even though its fragrance can be smelled from such-and-such a distance

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "يَحْمِلُ هَذَا الْعِلْمَ مِنْ كُلِّ خَلْفٍ عُدُوْلُهُ يَنْفُوْنَ عَنْهُ تَحْرِيفَ الغَالِيْنَ، وَ انْتِحَالَ الْمُبْطِلِيْنَ، وَ تَأْوِيْلَ الجَاهِلِيْنَ

The Prophet saw said, "This sacred knowledge will be borne by the reliable authorities of each successive generation, who will [preserve it and] remove from it the alterations of those guilty of exaggeration, the plagiarism of the corrupt, and the false interpretations of the ignorant"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : "يَتَقَارَبُ الزَّمَانُ، وَ يُقْبَضُ الْعِلْمُ، وَ تَظْهَرُ الفِتَنُ، وَ يُلْقَى الشُّحُّ، وَ يَكْثُرُ الهَرْجُ". قَالُوْا: وَ مَا الْهَرْجُ؟ قَالَ: "الْقَتْلُ

The Prophet saw said, "Time will become short, sacred knowledge will be withdrawn, temptations will emerge, extreme avarice will descend, and harj will prevail." They asked, "What is the meaning of harj?" He replied, "Massive discord and bloodshed"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَّا يَبْقى أَحَدٌ إِلَّا آكِلُ الرِّبَا، فَإِن لَّمْ يَأْكُلْهُ، أَصَابَهُ مِنْ بُخَارِهِ

The Prophet saw said, "Verily a time will come upon the people when only those consuming interest will remain. Those not [directly] involved in consuming interest will surely experience its vapor"

وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ : إِنَّ الدِّيْنَ بَدَأَ غَرِيْبًا، وَّ سَيَعُوْدُ كَمَا بَدَأَ، فَطُوْبى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ، وَ هُمُ: الَّذِيْنَ يُصْلِحُوْنَ مَا أَفْسَدَ النَّاسُ مِنْ بَعْدِيْ مِنْ سُنَّتِيْ

The Prophet saw said, "Verily the religion (Islam) began in an estranged state and it will return to the state in which it began. So glad tidings for the estranged. They are those who will reform the corruption caused in my Sunna by people after me"

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ وَ هُوَ سَيِّدُ الصَّادِقِيْنَ : لَا يَزَالُ مِنْ أُمْتِيْ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ بِأَمْرِ اللهِ، لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مِنْ خَذَلَهُمْ، وَ لَا مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللهِ وَ هُمْ عَلى ذلِكَ

The leader of the truthful, the Prophet saw said, "There will constantly be a group from my Umma holding fast to the matter of Allah. They will not be harmed by those who abandon them, nor by those who oppose them. This will remain their condition until the decree of Allah arrives"
