Winston describes himself as feeling "gelatinous." What is the significance of using this word?

Gelatinous came to Winston's mind before any other word. This shows that he has some connection with the past still. Gelatinous is a rather large word that wouldn't have existed in Oceania because of Newspeak. The word would most likely have been deleted.

On page 179, Winston says he is "irrationally convinced that this afternoon there was no danger of anyone interfering with him." What literary device is this in regards to the events in chapter 10 and why?

In regards to chapter 10 this statement is ironic, because he gets caught by the thought police later that evening. His gut feeling was wrong.

What happens to the paperweight? How is this significant or symbolic to Julia and Winston's story?

The paperweight is smashed into pieces by someone, and Winston sees the piece of coral roll across the mat before him. He thinks to himself, "how small it always was!" This symbolizes how small the chance of him and Julia surviving while living like they were had always been.

What do the crowds do when they are told that Oceania is not at war with Eurasia, but is in fact at war with Eastasia?

The people realized that the banners and posters which had been decorating the square were all wrong. Then there was a moment of pure riot as the people ripped posters from the walls, trampled banners and tore them to shreds.

On pages 221-222, the voice in the telescreen repeated Julia and Winston whenever they said something, why does the voice do this?

The voice does it in order to confirm everything that they are saying. It is Big Brother's way of making them fear him, they know that he is watching and hearing them and there is nothing they can do to escape it.

On page 221, there was a telescreen hidden behind a painting in their room. How did a telescreen get there?

The wasn't a telescreen there before that the audience knows of so it had to be placed there at some point. In the same chapter Mr. Charrington is revealed to be a member of the Thought police. He planted the telescreen to catch Winston and Julia.
