the freedom to run the program for any purpose. the freedom to study on how that program works and adopt it to your needs. the freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor. the freedom to improve the program and release your improvements to the public so that the whole community benefits .
a program is only free software if users have all of these freedoms. four kinds of freedom for the users of the software

he said the terms "free software" and "open source" stand for almost the same range of programs. however, they say deeply different things about those programs based on different things about those programs, based on different values. the free software movements campaigns for freedom for users of computing; it is a movement for freedom and justice. by contrast, the open-source idea values mainly practical advantages and does not contain for principles. this is why we do not agree with open source, and do not use that term.
