Phases of Socialization

Primary: Infancy and childhood. Family is the primary agent and it is the most intense period of socialization Secondary: Later childhood, into adulthood. Agents include schools, peers, and the workplace.

Schools

Teach important skills like reading and math (SF) but also teach obedience to authority and about taking turns (CT).

Women: Emotional, passive, cooperative, social Men: Rational, active, competetive
