alg 2 quiz 8.2-8.3
factor the numerator (getting X by itself)
General Functions- how do you find X-intercepts?
factor the denominator if possible an set the equal to the x's. it should be all real numbers ; x doesn't equal those two numbers factored
General Functions- how do you find the domain?
you will put y in the middle than you will use less than sign to show that the biggest number in the table will be greater or equal to Y however on the left side you will put the lowest number and Y should be just greater than that number.
General Functions- how do you find the range?
the numbers from the domain
General Functions- how do you find the vertical asymptote?
you divide the numerator and denominator based on the X squared. If its bigger on the bottom it will be 0 but if its bigger on top there will be no HA. if the x squared are the same then you will just divide the coefficients.
General Functions-how do you find the HA?
it will be all real numbers but x will not equal the VA
simple functions- how do you find the domain
it is the number added on to the equation
simple functions- how do you find the horizontal asymptote?
it will be the denominator set equal to the X (all in the denominator )
simple functions- how do you find the vertical asymptote?
it will be all real numbers except y will. not equal HA
simple functions-How do you find range
