Handwriting on the wall
Also kniw as " The writing on the wall." This expression originates for the book of Daniel in the old testament of the bible. As the story goes, a bodiless hand wrote on the way" Mene, Mene, Tekal, Upharsin." After this happened the visionary was the end of the Babylonian Kingdom. That night, Belshazzar was killed. Throughout time " the writing on the wall" has been a metaphor for the global financial and economical crises of the world.
El Dorado
El Dorado originally El Hombre Dorado (the golden man) is the term used by Europeans to describe a tribal chief of the Muisca native people of Colombia. He covered himself with gold dust and dove into Lake Guatavita. El Dorado went from a city to a kingdom and an empire of this legendary golden king.
Chimera
Homer gives a quick description in his book Iliad "a thing immortal make , not human, lion-fronted and snake behind, a goat in the middle, and snorting out the breath of the terrible flame of bright fire." Chimera was also added to the 'Mighty Morphin' power rangers as Goaton.

I have not heard of him prior to this. Edgar allan poe has a poem called Eldorado. There is also a cartoon move called The road to El Dorado which came out in 2000.
Hydra Headed
I have seen heard of the hydra from the movie Heracles. There is also the moive Hydra: The Lost Island is a 2009 low-budget monster movie which is about the the monster. It has been referred to in several of the Heracles movies.

In Greek mythology, the Hydra was an ancient snake like water monster with reptilian traits. It possessed many heads and for each head cut off it grew two more. It had poisonous breath and blood so poisonous that even its tracks were deadly.The Hydra of was killed by Heracles as the second of his Twelve Labours.

In greek mythology, chimera is a creature made of different animals. It was a Imaginative creature which was Wild and scary. Chimera was a female monster who sprouted flames. She had a loin's head, a goats body, and a dragon's or snakes tail. She was the offspring of Typhon and echidna.

Odysseus / Ulysses
Odysseus appears in homer's poem called Odysseus. Also in Homer's Iliads. Ulysses 31 is a cartoon series where he is in space. I have heard of him before but was never sure exactly who he was.

This story is in the bible. I have heard this story as a child in Sunday school and from family.

Ulysses is the Roman name for Odysseus. Odysseus was a Greek king of Ithaca and a hero is Homer's Iliad and other works along these lines. Odysseus was one of the most influential Greek champion during the Trojan war.
Jonah
jonah or "Jonah and the whale" is a the story about Jonah being stuck in a whale. It begins when god tells Jonah to preach to the city of Nineveh. Jonah disobeys god and gets on a boat and goes away from Nineveh. God sends a storm and the other on the boat blame Jonah for the storm and throw him off the boat. After this Jonah is swallowed by a huge fish and stays inside for 3 days. After 3 days of praying to god , god has the whale vomit him out onto the shore.
