26th Amendment

suffrage for 18-year-olds; if you are old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to vote (1970)

23rd Amendment

suffrage in the District of Columbia; allows citizens to vote for president, but they get no congressional representation and they receive 3 votes in the Electoral College

20th Amendment

the "Lame Duck" Amendment; the dates when Congress and the President moved to January 3 for Congress and January 20 for the President

21st Amendment

the repeal of prohibition (the 18th Amendment); makes the manufacture, sale, and consumption of liquor legal in 1933

27th Amendment

congressional pay raises; a vote to increase Congressional of Presidential pay will not go into effect until the next election

24th Amendment

forbids making voters pay a poll tax or take a literacy test in a national election

22nd Amendment

limits the president to two terms in office or no more than ten years

25th Amendment

presidential disability or succession; if a president is removed, dies, or resigns, the Vice President becomes President, and he appoints a new Vice President
