They have earned titles or participated in obedience, rally, agility, herding, tracking, flyball, and earthdog tests. Some ______s are therapy dogs. The ______ stands low to the ground and is slightly longer than he is tall. His silky blue and tan coat parts to each side, all the way down his back to his tail. It's not so long that it falls all the way to the floor. He has a moderately long wedge-shaped head; small dark almond-shaped eyes; small V-shaped ears carried erect; and a black nose. The docked tail is carried between the twelve o'clock and two o'clock position. He moves with a lively and light-footed step.

Don't think that the ______ is a gentle lapdog. The ______ can get along with cats and other dogs if he is brought up with them, but he has a strong prey drive and is likely to chase animals who stray onto his property. Bernese Mountain Dog

Greater Swiss Mountain Dog

Black Russian Terrier

Bred to be suspicious of strangers, he needs training to discriminate between situations that call for protective action and those that don't. The _________'s coat is slightly to moderately wavy. The hair on the head falls over the eyes and on the face forms a mustache and beard. The coat is trimmed to achieve the dog's distinctive look. Basic black is this breed's fashion statement.
