The Great Depression, which had no jobs, money, and people had no houses. The stock market crashed and there was a bad economy.

The workers needed time to warm up. They had a partner whom they would take turns on the job. Sometimes the pipes or equipment would freez. Accidents would occure and had to be adressed. The partner would sometimes be late or not come.

Why were workers expected to attend school in the evenings.? Explain.

They didn't have time during the day because of work. They needed to learn about communism, to read and write, and to learn about there job. It was required to be able to read at least one sentence in any language and write their name.
