What is thermoregulation?

A way we (our bodies) maintain homeostasis.

How does thermoregulation function?

If the temperature is too high or low, the hypothalamus sends signals to the skin and muscles, and nervous system.

How do our bodies respond to a high temperature? (Too Hot)

The Hypothalamus signals the sweat glands to sweat in order to cool our bodies down.

Does Body temperature increase or decrease with activity?

The body temperature almost stays the same, but can develop a bit of increase depending on how long the activity is.

Why is body temperature NOT a problem with runner 0358?

The normal body temperature range goes from 36.1C to 37.5 C Runner 0358's temperature is 37.5F allowing it to be just right.

What is the hypothalamus?

The part of the brain that regulates body temperature.
