Children who witness high levels of conflict between their parents on the other hand are more likely to blame them on the marriages failure leaving room for the possibility that their own marriage will be different

Is a major factor to interpersonal attraction- we tend to interact, court, and marry people who live near us

Exogamy

Is the practice of marrying someone from a different social group (ex: more and more people are marrying outside of their race/ethnic group)

Endogamy

Is the practice of marrying within your social group(ex: marry within the same race)

Homogamy

the tendency of people with similar characteristics to marry one another (ex: values, beliefs, shared culture increases the chance of getting married)
