Washigton's army reached a low point when just 5,000 individuals remained in the Continental army. This meant that people died as a result of fighting, disease, and starvation, giving the Patriots the appearance of being unable to win.

According to the chart on page 148 - The Fighting Forces 1777, how did the number of troops on each side compare?

When the number of troops on either side was compared, the Patriots had only 20,000 individuals in their army, whereas the British had several more.

Yes, because if they had more reason to win then they could try harder and the outcome could be with them winning. The more motivated you are, the more reasonable you get to success.

Yes, the British had numerous valid reasons to be confident in their victory, including the fact that they had far more members than the Patriots.
