Glycsuria
Abnormal presence of glucose in the urine
Addison disease
Caused by deficiency in the secretion of adrenocortical hormones
Exophthalmic goiter
Characterized by protrusion of the eyeballs, increased heart action, enlargement of the thyroid gland, weight loss, and nervousness
Thyroid storm
Crisis of uncontrolled hyperthyroidism
Hyponatremia
Decreased concentration of sodium in the blood
Hyperkalemia
Excessive amount of potassium in the blood
Hirsutism
Excessive growth of hair in unusual places
Acromegaly
Hypersecretion of GH that causes soft tissue and bones to grow larger than normal
Myxedema
Hypothyroidism acquired in adulthood
Cretinism
Hypothyroidism that appears as a congenital condition and is commonly associated with other endocrine abnormalities
Diuresis
Increased excretion of urine
Type 1 diabetes
Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, occurs most commonly in children and adolescents (juvenile onset)
Cushing syndrome
Metabolic disorder caused by hypersecretion of the adrenal cortex resulting in excessive production of glucocorticoids
Type 2 diabetes
Non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus; occurs later in life
Pheochromocytoma
Small chromaffin cell tumor, usually located in the adrenal medulla
