Outline stroke command
Converts a stroked path into a closed path that is same width as the original stroked path
Free transform
applies an eight handled bounding box to selected image

4 basics methods for making transformations
click transforms tools - then click and drag anywhere on artboard. Double click the transform tool. Click transform tool the click the artboard. CLick transform tool - press alt then click artboard
Add to shape area
converts two or more overlapping objects into a single merged object
Offset Path command
creates a copy of a selected path set off by a specified distance
Intersect shape area
creates a single merged object from the area where two or more objects overlap
Transform panel
displays info about the size, orientation and location of one or more selected objects
Divide
divides an object into its component filled faces
Reflect
flips object across axis - good for tracing synmetrical object like a spoon
Transform each
good for transforming multiple objects individually
Pathfinders
group of present operations that help you combine paths in a variety of ways
Shear tool
hidden behind scale tool - shears at an angle
Clipping mask
in object menu: window through which you view some or all of the objects behind the mask in stacking order - like putting a picture inside text
X and Y coordinates
indicates objects horizontal (x) and vertical (y) locations on artboard
When you change an object's size, shape or position on the art board
it is a transformation
Align Panel
offers a quick and simple solution for alingning selected objects along the axis you specify
Point of origin
place were all transformation are executed in relation to a fixed point
Concentric
refers to objects that share the same center point
transformation tools
roatate, scale, reflect, shear, and free transform tools.
Shear
skews or distorts an object - good for depth
Minus back
the opposite of Subtract: deletes the backmost object from the frontmost object.
Compound shape
two or more paths that are combined in such a way that "holes" appear where ever paths overlaps
Subtract from shape area
where objects overlap
