Define Apraxia and symptoms

an impairment in the ability to translate speech plans into actual speech. Children with apraxia know what they wish to say, but their brains do no readily translate planned speech into the necessary movements of lips, tongue, and other parts of the speech apparatus. Children with this are aware of their speech erors and may attempt to correct themselves. Symptoms: 1.) initiating speech and producing language sounds 2.) utterance may exhibit abnormal rhythm, stress and intonation, and errors of articulation that aren't consistent each time a word is produced
