Crystal Systems
Hexagonal
All crystals have four axes. Three of the axes are the same length and intersect at 60 degree angles. The fourth axis is longer or shorter than the other three
Isometric (cubic)
All crystals have three axes if equal length. All axes intersect at 90 degrees.
Monoclinic
All crystals have three axes in different length. Two of the axes intersect at a 90 degree angle the third axis intersects the other twist an angle greater than 90 degrees
Tetragonal
All crystals have three axes that intersect at 90 degree angles. Two of the axes are equal length
Triclinic
All crystals have three unequal axes that make oblique angles with each other
Orthorhombic
All crystals have three axis. Each axis is different length. They all intersect eachother at 90 degree angles
Crystal system
Six basic systems in which minerals form in
