Reward Power
is the ability to grant a reward to an employee in exchange for a job performance. for example the supervisor can provide employees a bonus when they meet a set goal for a project
Informational Power
stems from when a leader possesses knowledge that other need or want. For example is a project manager may have all the information for a specific project.
Legitimate Power
the power that comes from one's organizational role or position. This power is usually given by election, appointment, or hiring, and followers widely recognize this power. For example, the CEO determines the overall direction of the company.
Coercive POwer
Is the ability to take something away from or punish someone for noncompliance, such as firing a employee or denying privileges. For example a vice president of sale may threaten salespeople to either meet their goals or get replaced
