Verb

shows action or state of being. Example: I walked to school.

Adjective

A word that describes a noun or pronoun Example: The table is green.

Adverb

A word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb ( usually ending in -ly ) Example: I walked happily.

Pronoun

A word that takes place of a noun, another pronoun, or a group of words acting as a noun Example: It is blue.

Noun

a person, place, thing, or idea Example: The cat ran.

Preposition

a word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to some other word in the sentence also states position, time, and relationship. Example: of, above, against, along, amid

Conjunction

connects words, phrases, or clauses Ex. and

Interjection

expresses emotion and has no grammatical relation to the rest of the sentence. Example: Yay, I won!
