Lav smoke detector (ERJ 175)
Continuiously monitors the lav compartment to detect smoke or active fire. Provides a visual and audible warning when smoke density exceeds predetermined level. An orange flashing light illuminates on the FA indicator panel indicating the lav location.
Remove PBE from barrier pouch, pull oxygen cyllinders firmly apart to generate oxygen, place both hands inside the neck seal opening with palms facing each other, stretch the neck seal open by spreading the hands apart, lift up the opened pbe with both hands and then lower it down over the head until it fits securely around the neck. Hair & clothing should not impede seal around the neck.
How do you operate PBE?
Inflate only one chamber upon exiting the aircraft
How do you operate a crew life vest during an evac?
The life line on all CRJ aircraft has knots tied one foot apart tied into it to assist in the evac as a means to prevent the pax hands from slipping on the ropes
How do you operate a life line?
Wire seal intact, catridge visible, red lines align, no corrosion, secure. Do not twist the handle to inspect the red lines are aligned- this causes the wire seal to break.

Once immersed in water, removing the plugs from the battery pack activates the light. Equipped with a leash with a wooden handle that can be held by the parent to prevent the infant from drifting away

Squeeze the handle and speak slowly with loud clear tones. Adjust volume as needed.
How do you operate the ACR megaphone?
Retrieve the megaphone from its stowage location. Depress the red button & speak loud and clear. Use the volume control dial to adjust the volume.
How do you operate the Cub megaphone?
Hold upright, pull the safety pin hard enough to break seal, point at the base of the fire & squeeze handle, discharge halon at the base of the flame with a side to side motion. Extinguishers may have a wire or plastic seal

Remove from the bracket by grasping firmly & pulling outwards. Return to mounting bracket to turn off.
