Initiative vs Guilt (Play Age)
- imagination & play - explore environment - guilt (because of disapproval) - exploration!
Generativity vs Self Absorption (Middle Adulthood)
- care of others + perpetuate culture - mid-life crisis (finding new meanings) - parenting!
Trust vs Mistrust (Infancy)
- children develop sense of trust - lack= mistrust - feeding!
Industry vs Inferiority (School Age)
- confidence with success - learning new skills (and knowledge) - feelings of inadequacy = self-esteem issues - school!
Identity vs Role Confusion (Adolescence)
- find identity - struggle/failure of this = weak(ened) sense of self - social identity! and relationships!
Intimacy + Solidarity vs Isolation (Young Adulthood)
- gain capacity of love - maintain healthy relationships - failure: isolation + loneliness - relationships (especially romantic)!
Autonomy vs Shame + Doubt (Early Childhood)
- learn how to master skills: walk, talk, feed - take responsibility - shamed during toilet training = low self-esteem & doubt - toilet training!
Ego Integrity vs Despair (Late Adulthood)
- look back on life - questioning everything that you have accomplished - left legacy? - reflection (on life)!
