I think it was harmful. I think that while the new crops came to the land, they also introduced new problems for the Native Americans such as 1) New diseases that made them succetible to conquest and inqusition 2) The people that came over took land and other belongings that was not theirs and as a result did more harm than good to the Native Americans.
