13. Approach shot

- A shot from a short distance to reach the green; usually less than 100 yards for most golfers.

- Shooting par is typically 72 strokes to complete a round of 18 holes.

1. Name the three types of grips

Ten finger grip (known as baseball grip), the interlocking grip and the overlapping grip. Grip used by the golfer is a personal choice based on how comfortable.

Addressing the ball (where should the ball be played in your stance based on each club?)

Where the player is setting up to take a shot. Typically the longer club, the further the ball should be in the player's stance. (example: longer irons are played further up in the stance, middle irons typically in the middle and shorter irons are usually played further back in the stance).

12. Pitch shot

A shot which tends to have a high trajectory and usually rolls less. This shot is used to place the ball on the green; pitch shot is usually hit from a short distance from the green just below the apron.

How many are typically in a bag? There can be up to 14 clubs officially in a golf bag. The 13 typical clubs are: #1Wood (Driver), #3 Wood, #5 Wood. The long irons: 3 iron and 4 iron. The middle irons: 5 iron, 6 iron and 7 iron. The short irons: 8 iron and 9 iron and a (PW) pitching wedge, the (SW) sand wedge as well as the putter
