Task Roles
Communication behaviors that help the group address the issue, solve any problems and perform the task
Aggressor
Expresses disapproval, jokes at the expense of others, expresses ill will or envy
Recognition seeker
boasts, calls attention to self, seeks sympathy or pity
Norming
Members begin to get used to each other and build trust
Self-Centered roles
Roles that meet the needs of that individual while harming the rest of the group
Storming
Stage where members may begin to sacrifice getting along to get down to business
Performing
Stage where members reach a point of working cooperatively together because they've built trust
Forming
Stage where members tend to make a strong effort to get along
Dominator
Tries to run the group by giving directions, interrupting and insisting on his or her own way
Confessor
Uses the group as audience for personal mistakes and feelings irrelevant to the task

Acts as the representative of one group to the detriment of the group process
Class clown
Avoids involvement in the task by making jokes and cynical comments
Blocker
constantly raises objections and insists that nothing can be done
