Number line

Additive inverse

A number plus it's opposite = 0

Positive integer

A whole number that is greater than zero.

Negative integer

A whole number that is less than zero

Level of the ocean's surface

Zero pair

Pair of numbers whose sum is zero.

Positive and Negative Whole Numbers and 0. Examples: .... -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3.....(Does not include fractions or decimals).

Vertex

The corner where two lines meet.

Absolute value

The distance a number is from zero on a number line. ALWAYS POSITIVE.

Deposit

To add money to an account. Represented by a positive number.

Descend

To go down. Represented by a negative number.

Ascend

To move upward. Represented by a positive number.

Withdrawal

To remove money from an account. Represented by a negative number.

Opposite

Two numbers with the same absolute value and opposite signs.
