• He said he was unsure of who he sided with at first but then sided with John Adams • Advice- He told John Adams to talk to Virginia about his opinion because they are the richest, largest colony. He also told him that he shouldn't have criticized Dickinson infront of everyone. He also said he didn't side with Adams so he wouldn't make any enemies.

John Adams

• He wants to fight for freedom and make the British leave Massachusetts, because soon they will attack all of the other colonies. • Formed a committee to create the Declaration of Independence • Tells Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence because 1) he is Virginian(biggest state/colony) 2) he writes better 3) He is liked and popular unlike John Adams • One of his strong arguments against John D.: He says the benefits of fighting and becoming independent are worth it because they will be able to create their own new free country.

John Dickinson

• He wants to make peace with Britain so there isn't any war. (hand out the olive branch) • He disagrees with John Adams, but agrees with him in the end because he respects George Washington and knows that it is a smart thing to do. • One of his strong arguments: If we do declare independence, the colonies will not have any support or leadership, and there would be chaos. He also says that Indians and slaves will rise up and kill them.

Abigail Adams

• She believes that women should be a part of politics too. • She wants John to speak up for women and slaves. • She does not believe in slavery, and blames slavery for England going to take over New York.
