apocalyptic

From the Greek word apocalypsis meaning "revelation"; used by scholars to describe a worldview (because the world is so corrupt, God must reveal "hidden truth" to the faithful), a kind of literature (visions of another world in time and space) and an ideology (the justice of God will come at the end of the world, which will be swift and complete)
