Offered an alternative way of fighting for civil rights, as equality was still not 100% there, definitely in north and in ghettos. Economy still not equal Believed peaceful protests were ineffective and insisted black culture should be more celebrated

Offered practical help to black people living in the ghettos whilst ensuring the problems remained on the political agenda

Very impactful Propaganda was everywhere. Had clinics working on health insurance. Free breakfasts to black school children
