meaning that there are already preconceived beliefs about groups or people due to cultural practices mainly opinions about one group about another.

occurs when hiring and promotion decisions are made and based upon the criteria that are not job-relevant
Affirmative Action
requires that an employer take positive steps to guarantee EEOs for people within protected groups.
