While when under lower temperatures then the ones normally supported, the organism may stop its activity but can easily return to it once the temperature returns to ideal. Psychrophiles growth best at low temperatures whereas psychrotrophs are capable of growth at lower temperatures, ex. 4 C (they tolerate it) and can cause food spoilage
