Who is Denmark Vesey?
Denmark Vesey was a slave who bought his own freedom. He lived in Charleston, South Carolina. Vesey planned the largest slave rebellion in US history. A house slave warned the white master of the plot though and Vesey and his followers were eventually caught and killed.

Douglass was an abolitionist. He was an ex-slave. He was known for his speaking and writing ability. He was a conductor of the underground railroad.
