In the context of anticipation growing out of enslavement, we begin reading Matthew 1:1: "The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." Furthermore, Paul observed: "When we were children, [we] were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under law, to redeem those who were under the law" (Gal. 4:3-5).
