Most of the citizens living in Syria were uneducated and could not create buisnesses let alone read. This caused some economic problems within Syria. PAN

My great grandfather was imprisoned and had his factory destroyed for being a capitalist. He was imprisoned for 6 months as an example to others. (Jedo)

The companies were shut down and destroyed to prevent those with wealth to gain power. PAN

The founder of the pan Arab nationalist movement. Also a member of the Syrian Baa'th party who allied themselves with Egypts leader Abdul Nasser. DOAN

The growing problems between the working class and the two muslim sects began to destabilize more causing a great panic. DOAN

Pan Arab Nationalism

The idea of one day untiting all the Arab countries under one union to create a more leaceful living enviroment. Wanted a socialist government leading the Union. Ulitimatley Failed. DOAN

Capitalistic influence

The influence of capitalism shrunk within Syria and Egypt becaus ethe socialist government destroyed all capitalist influence to "support the people." Many cictizens fled to Lebanon and neigboring countries. MI

Doomed to fail

The nationalist party was doomed to fail in the beginning because of their socialist gornment and violent groups who countlessly fought. MI

How could it have been better?

They should have kept capitalist companies going and educated the masses more. They also should have taken precautions to avoid getting involved in the muslim sects fighting. Their biggest mistake was relying solely on Socialist ideas and giving to the people.

The Collapse

When the Nationalist party realized that everything was going downhill, the became desperate and began to call to any educated arab to step up and run the buisneses. But they were all in Lebanon. PAN
