Parts of The Heart
Cardiac veins
Veins of the heart taking deoxygenated blood away from the heart
Right Ventricle
Receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium and dumps it into the lungs via the pulmonary arteries
Left atrium
Receives oxygenated blood from lungs via pulmonary arteries
Left ventricle
Receives oxygenated blood from the left atrium and pumps it to the body via aorta
Coronary artery
Arteries of the heart that supply oxygen to the heart
Brachiocephalic artery
Carries oxygenated blood from the aortic arch to the right superior part of the body (right upper body)
Left subclavian artery
Carries oxygenated blood from the brachiocephalic to the left arm
Right subclavian artery
Carries oxygenated blood from the brachiocephalic to the right arm
Pulmonary veins
Carries oxygenated blood to the left atrium to the lungs
Right carotid artery
Carries oxygenated blood to the right side of the head from the brachiocephalic
Veins
Carry deoxygenated blood towards the heart
Arteries
Carry oxygenated blood away from the heart
Right Atrium
Chamber of the heart that receives deoxygenated from the superior/inferior vena cava
Myocardium
Muscle of the heart
Pulmonary Arteries
Carries deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the lungs
Superior Vena Cava
Carries deoxygenated blood to the right atrium from the head and arms (upper part of body)
Inferior Vena Cava
Carries deoxygenated blood to the right atrium from the trunk and legs (lower body)
Aorta
Carries oxygenated blood away from the left ventricle to the whole body
Left carotid artery
Carries oxygenated blood from the aortic arch to the left side of the head
Mitral valve
Divides the left atrium and the left ventricle
Tricuspid valve
Divides the right atrium and right ventricle
Pulmonary semilunar valve
Goes up the pulmonary artery
Aortic semilunar valve
Shoots up the aorta
