A solution is a liquid that is a completely homogeneous mixture of two or more substances.

Define an acid and an organic acid.

Acid is a higher concentration of hydrogen ions. Organic acid is an organic compound with acidic properties.

If we are interested in understanding how MSG behaves as a buffer, what is the rationale for adding HCl to water in addition to the MSG solution?

By adding hydrochloric acid to the water and MSG solution we can test to see if the pH changes and if it does then it is not a buffer.

What characteristics improve the solubility of molecules in water?

Molecules that are polar and hydrophilic improve solubility in water.

What characteristics decrease the solubility of molecules in water?

When a molecule is in low temperatures and have only non-polar bonds it decreases the solubility in water.
