Airspace Certification Requirements

Alpha - Instrument rating Bravo - Private (unless student/recreational seeking prvt) C,D,E,G - No requirements

Warning Airspace

- 3NM outward from the coast - Activity hazardous to non-participating airspace

Transponder Airspace Requirements (91.215)

- Class Alpha, Bravo, Charlie airspaces - Within Mode C vail of Appendix D airports from surface to 10,000' MSL - Above Class B & C boundaries up to 10,000' MSL - above 10,000' MSL, excluding airspace at or below 2,500' AGL

Restricted Airspace

- Hazards to aircraft such as firing, gunnery, and missiles - MAY NOT ENTER without permission

Alert Airspace

- High volume of pilot training or unusual aerial activity

Controlled Firing Areas

- Potentially hazardous activities within area are suspended by spotter when non-participating aircraft are within range

Prohibited Airspace

- Prohibited flight to all aircraft

Military Operations (MOA)

- Separates military activity from IFR traffic - No restrictions against VFR traffic

Airspace Equip. Requirements

A - IFR B & C - 2-way radio, altitude reporting transponder D - 2-way radio E & G - none

VFR Weather Minimums

Bravo - 3 COC Charlie - 3152 Delta - 3152 Echo - 5111 (above 10,000'), 3152 (less than 10,000') Gulf - <1200' : 1COC (day), 3152 (night) >1200' + 10,000' : 5111 >1200' - 10,000' : 1152 (day), 3152 (night)
