Catholic reform movement
this was the response of the Catholic Church to the reformation that engulfed the entire Europe One of the biggest response of the Catholic Church to the reformation was the council of trent, with a long interruption between 1552-1562. The council was started by Pope paul III and the decisions of the council were approved and ratified by pope Pius IV in 1564.
