What are the minimum indicated parking brake pressures prior to starting the engines? Engine #2? Engine #1?

Right engine first / #2 engine = 500 psi Left engine first / #1 engine = 1000 psi

A fully charged accumulator is sufficient for how many applications of the emergency parking brake lever?

6

With the ANTI SKID switch selected ON when will the anti skid be operational?

Main gear wheel seed > 10 kts.

What powers the main brake system?

#1 Hydraulic System

What powers the Emergency Brake System?

#2 Hydraulic System

What powers the nose wheel steering?

#2 Hydraulic System

When does the Gear Warning Tone sound?

A landing gear warning tone sounds over the flight compartment speakers whenever the gear is not down and locked and any of the following conditions exist: A) Flaps are > 8.5° with either engine torque indicating less than 50% and both power levers positioned aft of the RATING detent. or B) Airspeed is < 156 KIAS with both power levers near the FLIGHT IDLE detent (within approx. 12° of + side of FLIGHT IDLE). • The landing gear warning horn can be tested prior to flight by holding the HORN MUTE / TEST switch in the TEST (down) position. • If the warning horn activates due to certain landing configuration parameters, it will continue to sound until the landing gear is extended. • The horn can be muted using the HORN MUTE / TEST switch provided that only one power lever is pulled aft towards FLIGHT IDLE.

What happens when you open the LANDING GEAR ALTERNATE EXTENSION door? (Located on the flight deck floor) What step is this in the alternate landing gear extension process? (? of 3)

Opening this door gives you access to the alternate extension hand pump, the NOSE L/G RELEASE handle and the alternate down-lock verification light system. Opening this door mechanically operates (opens) the MLG alternate selector valve. The opening of this valve is necessary for pump operation. If the MLG does not reach the down and locked position, the extension pump handle, located behind the Copilot, is inserted into the pump handle socket and operated to complete main gear extension and down-lock. The NOSE L/G RELEASE handle is then pulled to release the nose gear doors and nose gear. The nose gear will free fall aft to a full down and locked position, being assisted by airflow. The status of all gear doors and gears will be indicated by the advisory lights on the Landing Gear Control panel. The Alternate Down-lock Verification light system (in the floor) provides a redundant means of verifying the down land locked status of the landing gear. 3 of 3

What happens when you open the LANDING GEAR ALTERNATE RELEASE door? (Located over the First Officer's seat) What step is this in the alternate landing gear extension process? (? of 3)

Opening this door mechanically operates (opens) a bypass valve in the normal gear extension system. The opening of the bypass valve relieves #2 hydraulic system pressure from the landing gear up-locks to allow for manual release of the landing gear. Opening this door also access to the MAIN L/G RELEASE handle. The MAIN L/G RELEASE handle is then pulled to release the main landing gear doors and main gear up-locks. The main gear will free fall but may not fully extend. 2 of 3

What unit monitors and controls the operation of the landing gear components?

PSEU Proximity Sensor Electronics Unit

What happens when you move the landing gear extension INHIBIT switch (guarded, toggle) to INHIBIT? What step is this in the alternate landing gear extension process? (? of 3)

Selecting the switch to INHIBIT disables the electrical command sent to the landing gear solenoid valve for normal extension when the landing gear select handle is moved. The landing gear select handle can then be moved without gear activation. 1 of 3

What are three things that will cause you to have to use the Alternate Landing Gear Extension System?

The Alternate Landing Gear Extension system provides a manual means of extending the landing gear when any of the following landing gear malfunctions occur: • The LDG GEAR INOP caution light is illuminated, OR • The Landing gear indication fails, OR • There is a loss of #2 hydraulic system fluid

When will the nosewheel steering system revert to a passive, shimmy-dampened, free-castoring mode?

Whenever any of the following conditions exist: • the nosewheel angle exceeds 70° left or right of center position • The Steering Control Unit (SCU) fails • The STEERING switch is selected to the OFF position • Following an alternate gear extension In the free-castor mode, the nosewheel will rotate up to 120° either side of center. When operating in this mode differential braking and / or differential power must be used for directional control.

What light do you have on when you set the EMERG BRAKE into the detent PARK position?

illumination of the PARKING BRAKE caution light.

On landing when does your main brake system reactivate?

the Anti skid control unit reactivates the main brake system when: • Receives a weight-on-wheels signal, AND • Senses a main wheel speed of 35 knots or • 5 seconds after receiving a weight-on-wheels signal

What are the turning limits with the, Hand Control? Rudder Pedals?

• Hand Control = 70° either side of center for low speed taxi. • Rudder Pedals = 8° either side of the center for high-speed taxi. After takeoff the nosewheel automatically centers before retracting into the wheel well.

What is the difference when you perform the ANTI SKID TEST in the air verses the ground?

• Performing the test on the ground results in the illumination of the INBD ANTISKID and the OUTBD ANTISKID caution lights for six seconds and then extinguishing. • IF the test is done airborne with the gear extended and locked it is the same but the caution lights illuminate for only three seconds and then extinguish.
