approach

If you approach something, you move near to (someone or something) in distance. The rabbit agreed to race and approached the starting line.

excel

If you excel at something, you are very good at it. You do better or greater than others.

blunder

If you make a blunder, you make a bad or silly or careless mistake. When Mark made a blunder during the play, all the children looked at him.

reassure

If you reassure someone, you tell him or her that everything will be all right. Mrs. Parks tried to reassure Mark by telling him not to feel bad about making blunder during his performance.

pace

Your pace is how fast you are going. The tortoise kept up a slow, steady pace during the the race.
