He created a professional army by paying the poor to serve in the military. This however causes a new problem. Now, the army owes allegiance to leaders, not the Republic! He is exiled by the General Sulla and his army
Why did the creation of latifundia cause the poor people to move to cities?
It drove small farmers out of business because they can't compete with Latifundia. Small farmers start head for the city and there aren't any jobs there either Because there were no jobs/money it causes social problems and crime.
