Medical certificate class and duration (61.23)

• 1st Class- ATP- 12 months under 40 years old, 6 months over 40 years old. • 2nd Class- Com-12 months under 40 years old, 12 months over 40 years old. • 3rd Class- Prvt- 60 months under 40 years old, 24 months over 40 years old. -Medicals will revert into the lower next medical upon expiration.

Locating and explaining; Airworthiness and Registration certificates, Operating limitations, Placards, Instrument markings, POH/AFM, Weight and balance, and Equipment list. (91.203, 91.9)

• Airworthiness Certificate- Never expires but can become invalid. • Registration Certificate- Expires ever 3 years or 33 days for certain reasons (7). • Radio Operator License- Required for international flight. Plane and pilot each. • Operating Limitation (POH/AFM)- Must be in the aircraft and accessible. • Weight and Balance- Both basic empty weight and total weight (baggage, pass, fuel.) • Equipment list- located with the weight and balance, used to calculate the weight and balance of an aircraft.

Pilot Logbook or flight records (61.56, 61.57)

• Log your recent flight experience to stay current. • Private pilot currency- Day: 3 takeoffs and landings within 90 days of the same category, class, and type. • Night: 3 full stop landings, one hour before sunrise and an hour after sunset • Tailwheels must do full stops.

Private Pilot privileges, limitations, and flight experience requirements (FAR61.113)

• May not act as PIC that is carrying passengers or property for compensation or hire. • May act PIC for an aircraft with connection to any business or employment if the flight is only incidental to that business and the aircraft does not carry passengers or property for compensation or hire. • May not pay less than pro rata share of the operating expenses of a flight with passengers, provided the expenses involve only fuel, oil, airport expenditures, or rental fees. • May act PIC of a charitable, nonprofit, or community event flight described in 91.146. • May be reimbursed for aircraft operating expenses that are directly related to search and location operations conducted by local, state, or federal organizations or organizations that conduct search and location operations. • A private pilot who is an aircraft salesman and who has at least 200 hours logged flight time may demonstrate an aircraft in flight to a prospective buyer. • A private pilot who meets the requirements of 61.69 may act PIC of an aircraft towing a glider or unpowered ultralight vehicle. • May act PIC for the purpose of conducting a production flight test in a light-sport aircraft intended for certification in the light-sport category under 21.190.
