TELL ME ABOUT YOUR SELF What sets you apart from the crowd

1 Everybody has its characteristics, and that what makes a person unique, but those unique features have to work as a hole, like your eyes, your hands, your nose 2 I'm passionate about what I do, I am a hard work in individual , I don't consider the hospital as my second home, It is, in fact, my first home because that's where I've been for almost all my entire medical career, that's the way I feel productive for society, performing clinical histories, physical exams, doing all the paperwork that is under my responsibility of the patient . Back in my internship, I used to spent more than 30 hours when I was on call because my patients always came first. 3 Enthusiastic and energetic, I feel so happy to be here, the environment of the hospital, my duties, that's what keeps me alive, I think that any problem that I have is to make me feel alive, if there were no problems to solve, life would be boring. 4 Not only in a personal way, I always feel the need to make the best of me, all that is possible, and for that, I need the help from the people that is working around me so that all the algorithm in the management of a patient goes great. Everybody is important from the people that work carrying the patients to x rays, til the attendant, and I'm always there when they need me

1 Participation in university extensions where the primary focus is an excellent attention to the community 2 Teaching the communities about major health interventions, go to the doctors before the diseases develop 3 After Step 1 rotated in community medical center with Dr. Pathel bupendra where I improve my skills in communication with a Diversity of patients, specially latin population 4 Then rotated in Cardiovascular Hackensack associated medical center where Dr Santana and Dr Sterling taught me about common cardiovascular diseases in primary care, they gave me the opportunity to rotate with them in Hackensack UMC Palisades 5 Rotated at Hackensack UMC Palisades in internal medicine team C where the chief resident was impressed with my work as a student

What are your strenghts ?? What sets u apart form the crowd ??

As I said before everybody has its own skills and thats what makes us diverse and that how working as a team we will give an excellent trait to the patient In my family my father thaught us from an early age responsability , he used to do everything for us til we got to high school , thats when w started to do things by our selfs , we were designated who is going to wash the dishes from breakfast , luch , dinner We had to iron our clothes , wash our clothes by hand It worked In the internship I remember we had to carry our patients to labs, x rays by ourselves i had really small co interns that had to carry the patient from the bed to the wheelchair , and i was not going to let Always ask to help if somebody needs, in my internship we used to have really heavy rotations and other that were less heavy , so by helping each other , and sometimes they dont tell you I need help , so we always used to ask , DO YOU NEED HELP ??

Why haven you chosen this specialty ??

Back when I was rotating semiology we had to start interviewing patients at the hospital, and it seems easy from the point of view of the book, but when we were there it resulted a different scenario !!!! In a teaching hospital as ours patients get angry between more students come to examine them So I had my first patien 35 yo , we notest she was angry right after we got into the room , and she told the nurse that she doesnt want to be touched any more You have to find something in common with the patient something that connects you Started talking with her , and in a smooth way taking all the data that I need for my clinical hx , it was a flow , not something rigid

What are your petpeeves

I have a little obsesive compulsive disorder wtih timelines , I like to have everything done as I plan , so I push my self alot in that sense

What are Your weakness ?? What is your worst quality ?

I used to like to check and recheck what I do , for examples back when I was in medical school before an exam or a test I used to check again and again my answers , but in my lasts years I started to have confidence on what I do , an that is thanks to my parents , they always encourage me to be confident with my self and with my habilities

What would your fellow medical students will say about you

I want the to give the sense that they can rely on me , I want to be an example for them , as my seniors were for me

How would your friends describe you ???

I was always the one who organized the events in the group of friends from a trip , a party , to when we had a presentation in class or a project hematology example presentation and sometimes stressed to things make sense

What are your weakness ?? If you could change something about your personality what it would be ?

Sometimes I feel shy in public , but im working on that , I try to feel more confident with myself so that my words sound more reliable

What would your friends wold say is your biggest weakness

That I care a lot of my patients and im really sentimental , sometimes they are right because it doesnt make think straight in some circumstances , but il say that I see each patient and I relate them as if they were some family member and I treat them as I or any of my family would like to be treated

What might your last resident or attending physician want to change about your work habits

They would say that I have to stop to be shy in the sense that they see my interest in patients but nwhen there is a group round i speak kind in a low tone of voice , i should always try to respont in a higher tone even if im wrong
