Maximum posted SPEED LIMIT
*Speed limit signs have the maximum allowed speed posted on them*. There are many factors that go into setting speed limits in a city or town. Some of them are: -how well intersecting traffic can see cross traffic, -whether or not hills and curves are present, and -the number of cars that are present at a given intersection. Other factors may include -the number of accidents that have happened on a particular road, -the chance of pedestrians crossing the road, and -the likelihood of animals crossing the street.
Road markings
*Yellow lines* indicate that traffic on the other side of the lines is traveling in the opposite direction. - *White lines* indicate that traffic on the other side of the lines is traveling in the same direction or marks the edge of the road. White is also used for stop limit lines and crosswalks. -*Solid lines* indicate that you cannot cross them under normal circumstances. -*Dashed or dotted lines* indicate you can cross over them to change lanes or pass another vehicle if it is safe. Smaller dots that are closer together indicate that the lane will become a merge-only lane soon.
At a 4-way-stop, the driver on the ________ must yield the right of way to the driver on the________
At a 4-WAY stop, the vehicle at a complete stop has the right-of-way. In other words, the first person to arrive at the intersection has the right-of-way. If two vehicles arrive at the four-way stop simultaneously, the vehicle on the *left* must yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the *right*. --> right goes first

Informational Signs
Informational Signs These signs provide drivers with information such as directions to highways, rest areas, scenic areas, hospitals, etc. The shape of these signs is usually rectangular. The color scheme is normally white on a blue, green, or brown background.
Construction Zone Signs
Most of the signs are self-explanatory and should be simple to recognize on sight. As you can see, many of these signs are the same as regular warning signs, but are orange to indicate a work zone and they are temporary. Whenever these signs are present, they supercede the regular signs and lane markings on the road.
