Common Denominator

A nonzero number that is a multiple of the denominator of two or more fractions

Common Numerator

A number that is the numerator of two or more fractions. Ex. 3/11, 3/7

An equal part of a whole

decimals

Decimal numbers are like fractions because they count PART of something. Ex. Half of a pizza would be 0.5 of a pizza.

equivalent fractions

Different fractions that represent the same number (equal)

whole number

Does not have a fraction or decimal part. Ex. 1,2,3,4,5...

denominator

The bottom number of a fraction that tells how many equal parts are in the whole

numerator

The top number of a fraction that tells how many equal parts are being described
