Lenski argues that technology has changed society. Do you agree or disagree? Why?

agree . Technology reflects the current state of knowledge in a society and how this knowledge is applied to real-world problems. Technology is basically the application of scientific knowledge to practical situations. The constant innovations, scientific discoveries and inventions made through history have had a profound impact on how society organizes, interacts, obtains energy and even interacts with each other. Some examples of disruptive technologies throughout the years are: the wheel, the steam engine, the internal combustion energy, computers or the internet

What is a social network? Why do you think social networks are important in modern society? Do you think that you belong to any social networks?

A social network is a site, like Instagram, Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter, that allows people to communicate freely. Social networks ARE important to society because these are places where you can start advertising your business, or maybe you do business online, like photography, or you sell things like custom made phone cases! You can also keep up with what people are doing, trends, and news that doesn't pop up on Fox59 news.

List two statuses that you hold. Are these statuses ascribed or achieved statuses? Do you think that you behave differently in your different social statuses?

I dont really know what status I hold, but I can give different examples. Being a first-born-son (I´m the second born) is an ascribed status. This is because you have done nothing to accomplish it. Instead, you received it from birth. This might cause you to behave differently depending on the dynamics of your family. For example, it might cause you to be more responsible, more protective of your siblings or feel more pressure to accomplish. In the case of being the captain of a football team, this would be considered an achieved status. This is an achieved status due to the fact that it was granted to you due to your skills and accomplishments. Such a status might cause you to behave differently, as it might make you feel more responsible for the team's success or more attached to your teammates.

Describe Solomon Asch's study. How do you think you would have responded to the study if you were a part of it? Do you think you would have changed your answer?

Solomon Asch was a world-renowned and prestigious Polish-American psychologist due to his pioneering work in social psychology. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, and emigrated to the United States in 1920. He received his bachelor's degree from the College of the City of New York in 1928. Then, at Columbia University, he received his master's and Doctor's degree, in 1930 and 1932, respectively. He was a professor of psychology at Swarthmore College for 19 years, where he worked with leading psychologists, including Wolfgang Köhler .He became famous in the 1950s due to the experiments he conducted on compliance, where it was shown that social pressure on people can voluntarily induce them into error. The aforementioned experiment on conformity was one in which participants were shown a card with a line printed on it, then they were shown another card on which three printed lines appeared, each with a different label (a, b, and c). Each participant in the experiment was asked to indicate which of the labeled lines matched the line shown on the first card. At first, the participant felt very confident, insofar as he gave correct answers with the other participants. But then, the other "participants", located in front of the subject, would begin to give a wrong answer altogether. Solomon Asch thought that most people would not settle for something obviously wrong, but the results showed that a high number of participants gave the wrong answer.Personally, I think I wouldn't change my mind even if other people said that I was wrong. When the truth is obvious, it can't just be denied.
