What is an implicit bias test?
a bias against a certain group that is not necessarily conscious of their own beliefs -people will have different social contexts so they grow up with those beliefs so they do not know that it may be wrong -you were taught your whole life that black people are bad, so you tie between bad things with black people -accident police shootings where cops kill black people b/c they believe they are bad

What is the other-race effect?
how we tend to see the uniformity in other groups -we think they look more similar than our own people -all asians look the same? to other asians, they do not look the same at all
What is stereotype?
overgeneralized idea about a group of people -we take something that may true for some people, but then we apply it to everyone -creating a self-fulfilling prophecy

How are we able to convince people?
-you have to find a common bond in order to get them on their side; make it feel that you are on their side -sometimes you have to admit that you are wrong for something; it will make you seem more open
